From our kitchen to your gym bag

We're a couple, and working out and eating well has always been a big part of how we live, even before Grit Farm existed. For a while both of us were also thinking about pivoting our careers towards something we felt passionate about, wanting work that actually fit our lifestyle instead of fighting it.

Early 2026, Saarinka brought something back from a trip to Holland: a local brand of protein oats she'd tried and liked. We sat down to eat them together, and Viljami asked the question that started everything:

"What if we did these ourselves?"

We both got excited for the same reason. This was something we actually wanted to eat! Good protein, good carbs, good fat, no complicated prep, and it kept you full. That mattered to us, because eating well had quietly become its own source of stress during busiest work weeks.

We both know the classic Finnish combo: riisipiirakka (Karelian pasty), quark, banana or pineapple or berries. It's good, but it's three separate things, and on days when work is insane, you don't have time to eat, let alone go to the grocery store. And then you realise just before you are about to workout, you haven't eaten anything. And grab the protein bar or shake from the gym. Taste amazing, but what you really wanted was food to give you fuel, not a snack.

It's personal for both of us, in different ways:

  • Saarinka does CrossFit, and getting carbs in before a workout isn't optional,  it's what gives her the energy to train. She also lives with type 1 diabetes, so keeping her blood sugar steady is something she has to think about every day, not just before a workout.
  • Viljami trains for muscle and progress at the gym, and that takes consistent, good-quality carbs and enough protein intake, the kind you actually have to plan for, not grab on the way out the door.

With work as demanding and stressful as it can be, "eat well" had started to feel like one more job on top of everything else. So we started making our own batches, in our home kitchen.

What it comes down to

A 1kg bag in the office kitchen. 100g in a take away cup in  your gym bag or lunch box. Ready in 3 minutes, works with hot or cold water. Over 20g protein and over 10g fibre a serving, so it actually keeps you going, whether that's through a workout, a stressful afternoon, or both.

Viljami — Co-Founder

Saarinka — Co-Founder

Our journey to transform our work and lifestyle began in a kitchen, fuelled by a simple question: "What if we did these ourselves?"

Our promise

We make what we'd want to eat ourselves, out of a small production space in Turku, and we're honest about what's in it. No hustle-culture noise, no "eating healthy has never been this easy."
